The Hudson Yards complex in New York City has been lauded as one of the most transformative developments in modern urban planning, and its latest addition, 70 Hudson Yards, continues this tradition of innovation and architectural excellence. Scheduled for completion in 2026, 70 Hudson Yards is not just another office building; it’s the next generation of lifestyle office spaces, designed to cater to evolving tenant demands while making a bold statement as New York’s first zero-carbon emission building.
Spanning 1.37 million square feet across 45 floors, 70 Hudson Yards is being developed by the prestigious Related Companies, with architecture by Roger Ferris + Partners and Gensler. The building represents a delicate balance between aesthetics, functionality, and sustainability. The tower's architectural form is dynamic, with subtle folds and shifts throughout, ensuring uninterrupted views of the Manhattan skyline and the Hudson River for its tenants. These shifts also create outdoor terraces, providing spaces for employees to step out, connect with nature, and take in the breathtaking vistas.
One of the most striking features of the building is its stone façade, which interacts with natural light to create a play of shadows, bringing a sense of movement and depth to the structure. The design cleverly reduces the building’s visual mass by setting the façade three feet off from the glass exterior wall on a metal chassis, making the structure appear lighter as it approaches the ground. At street level, a glassy storefront and lobby entrance welcome visitors to the ground and mezzanine floors, which will house cafes and retail spaces, creating an inviting, lively atmosphere at the base of this landmark.
70 Hudson Yards is part of a new phase in Hudson Yards' development, and it is the first lifestyle office building of its kind in New York City. This new concept caters to the growing desire for office environments that prioritize well-being, community, and convenience. Employees working in this building will have access to an impressive suite of amenities, both within the building and across the Hudson Yards campus.
Some of the standout features include:
With direct proximity to the No. 7 subway and located along Hudson Boulevard between 35th and 36th Streets, 70 Hudson Yards offers unbeatable connectivity, ensuring that employees and visitors alike have seamless access to the building and the greater New York area.
To bring the vision of 70 Hudson Yards to life, Related Companies worked closely with the VISUALHOUSE production team to produce a series of CG imagery that would capture the essence of 70 Hudson Yards, aiding Related Companies in their marketing efforts. These visuals provided potential tenants with a glimpse of the unparalleled office experience they could expect, from the cutting-edge architecture to the lavish amenities and sweeping views.
Perhaps one of the most defining features of 70 Hudson Yards is its commitment to sustainability. The building is slated to be New York City's first zero-carbon emission high-rise, setting a new standard for environmentally conscious development in urban centers. The design, construction, and operational strategies for 70 Hudson Yards will focus on reducing energy consumption, using renewable energy sources, and minimizing the building's carbon footprint. This commitment to sustainability not only makes 70 Hudson Yards an attractive option for environmentally conscious companies but also positions it as a leader in the green building movement.
With its innovative architecture, unmatched amenities, and forward-thinking approach to sustainability, 70 Hudson Yards is poised to be more than just an office building—it is a visionary development that sets the standard for the future of workplace environments. Its completion in 2026 will mark a new chapter in Hudson Yards’ legacy, and with the support of cutting-edge visualizations by VISUALHOUSE, the building is already generating buzz in the commercial real estate market. 70 Hudson Yards is more than just a place to work—it is a lifestyle destination that reflects the evolving demands of the modern workforce.
